Garage Door Repairs in Brisbane

A garage door is the largest and heaviest moving object in most Brisbane homes, and when it stops working properly it takes your car, your storage and often your main entry with it. Core Garage Door repairs every part of the system: the springs that carry the weight, the cables that transfer it, the rollers and tracks that guide the door, the hinges and panels that make it up, and the motor that drives it. We diagnose the actual cause rather than replacing the obvious part — a door that reverses halfway is usually a safety sensor, a travel limit or a binding track, not a dead motor — and our vehicles carry the common springs, rollers, cables and brackets so most repairs are finished the same visit. Residential and commercial, every brand, right across Greater Brisbane.

  • We diagnose the cause, not the symptom — a halfway-reversing door is rarely a dead motor
  • Vehicles stocked with the springs, rollers, cables and brackets that cover most faults
  • Every brand serviced: B&D, Steel-Line, Gliderol, Danmar, Merlin, Chamberlain, ATA, Centurion
  • Auto-reverse safety function tested on every visit
  • Free, no-obligation quote before any work starts

How it works

What to expect when you call

1

Tell us the symptom

What the door is doing — the noise, the point it stops, whether the motor runs. Symptoms narrow the cause a long way before we arrive, so we bring the right parts the first time.

2

On-site diagnosis, free quote

We test the door under power and by hand, check the balance, and inspect springs, cables, tracks and rollers. You get the actual cause explained plainly and a free quote before anything is touched.

3

Repair in one visit

Our vehicles carry the springs, rollers, cables, hinges and brackets that cover the great majority of faults, so most repairs are completed on the spot rather than booked for a return trip.

4

Balance, test and hand back

We re-balance the door, reset the motor's travel and force limits, test the auto-reverse safety function, and cycle the door repeatedly before we leave.

Good to know

Garage Door Repairs FAQs

Why does my garage door reverse before it closes?

Nine times out of ten it is not the motor. The usual causes are misaligned or dirty safety sensors, a travel limit set incorrectly, or a track binding that spikes the force the motor reads as an obstruction. All three are quick to diagnose on-site and are often adjusted rather than replaced.

Is it worth repairing an old garage door or should I replace it?

It depends on the door, not its age. A structurally sound door with a failed spring or worn rollers is well worth repairing. A door with rusted-through slats, cracked panels, or a corroded bottom rail is throwing good money after bad. We tell you honestly which one you have, and quote both options where it is a genuine choice.

How long does a typical garage door repair take?

Most common repairs — a spring, a set of rollers, a cable, a sensor realignment — are completed in about one to two hours on-site. Panel replacements and full track rebuilds can take longer, and if a part needs ordering for an unusual door we will tell you at the quote rather than after.

Do you repair all brands of garage door?

Yes. We service B&D, Steel-Line, Gliderol, Danmar, Taurean and the rest, plus every common motor brand including Merlin, Chamberlain, ATA and Centurion. Where a proprietary part is genuinely unavailable we will say so and offer a compatible alternative rather than leaving you waiting.

My garage door is really noisy — is that a problem?

Noise is your door telling you something. Screeching usually means dry or failing rollers and bearings; a rhythmic bang often means a worn hinge or a flat spot on a roller; a loud snap followed by the door becoming very heavy is a broken spring and should be left alone until it is inspected. None of it is normal, and all of it gets worse.

Trusted locally

Garage Door Repairs — what customers say

Door started closing then ran straight back up, every time. I was convinced the motor was cooked. Turned out to be a sensor that had been knocked out of line by the bins. Ten-minute fix and he wouldn't take anything extra for it.
Daniel K. Chermside
Turned up when they said, explained what was actually wrong in plain English instead of a lecture, and quoted before touching anything. Genuinely no drama.
